Card of the Day, September 30th

The final card of the day for Rewrite. Although the booster is released already, at least let’s complete the CotD for Rewrite.

The card for today is Kanbe Kotori, together with her Climax Synergy, Kotori’s Heart.

Kanbe Kotori: Level 3, cost 2. 10000 power, with soul trigger.

When played onto your field from hand, you may send the top card of your clock to the waiting room.

Climax Synergy with Kotori’s Heart, the stated card at the introduction.
[1] When [Kotori’s Heart] is played down onto the climax area and this card is in the front stage. You may pay the cost of 1 stock, if you do, select one character card in your clock area and place it on any front empty border. The character that is played out using this effect gains this following effect until the end of this turn. [Automatic] When this card is reversed by battle, send it to the clock.

This climax synergy is probably the first seen in WS, other than Subaru and Teana which only allows specific characters to be played out from the clock. However though, it has a few restrictions. You can only have one Kanbe Kotori to use her effect for that turn, as she must be in the front stage before she can use her effect to bring out another character to the front stage, as we all know there is only 3 slots at the front.

To focus on this effect really well, Rewrite has a new card type called Shift. By using Shift to change cards in your waiting room with a stronger character, like another Level 3 character. You can make sure the Level 3 character will not die and still could kill opponent’s characters. In fact, you are healing yourself 1 soul damage and at the same time, gaining a good fighter at the front stage. It will be great to keep her climax in your hand to pull out this devastating effect, this card could easily be the key card in many Rewrite decks.

June 24th, Card of the Day

This post is a day late, and as of the time of writing, the Bakemonogatari boosters and Rewrite trial decks were released, along with it’s decklists on the main website. Nevertheless, this will be the last set of Bakemonogatari and Rewrite TD card of the days you’ll see.

The yellow Rewrite card features Kotori. 1/1, 6.5k power, 1 soul, no soul trigger, Plant and Occult traits. When this card attacks while you ave two other Occult trait characters on your Stage, all your characters gain +500 power until the end of this turn.

As for the Bakemonogatari card, it’s named “Lovers Koyomi Araragi and Senjougahara Hitagi’. 1/0, 4.5k power, 1 soul, no soul trigger, Strange and Blood traits. Has an experience effect; if the cards in your level area are 2 or more, this card gains +500 power (bumping it to 5k power) and hand encore. It’s second ability is a climax combo (it’s corresponding climax is a +2 soul buff) – when this card attacks while the climax “Watashi no subete” (My Everything), you may pay 1 stock. If you do, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, choose 1 Strange trait character from them, show it to your opponent and add it to your hand. Discard the rest of the cards into your Waiting Room.

June 2nd – Card of the Day

Today’s card of the day is from Rewrite and it’s a yellow event called The School Witch. Let’s see the effects:

A 2/0 yellow event which grants 5k to a character. It also lets the opponent to choose a number from 1 to 3. The player then places 3 cards from his deck to waiting room. If the value opponent speaks is the same as the number of <<Occult>> characters revealed, draw 1 card.

For a 2/0, this event definitely looks very strong with a 5k power to any character, as well as having 1 out of 3 chance of drawing an additional card which will be really helpful at no cost at all. Better prepare for occult trait decks if you want to play this event along!
