June 24th, Card of the Day

This post is a day late, and as of the time of writing, the Bakemonogatari boosters and Rewrite trial decks were released, along with it’s decklists on the main ws-tcg.com website. Nevertheless, this will be the last set of Bakemonogatari and Rewrite TD card of the days you’ll see.

The yellow Rewrite card features Kotori. 1/1, 6.5k power, 1 soul, no soul trigger, Plant and Occult traits. When this card attacks while you ave two other Occult trait characters on your Stage, all your characters gain +500 power until the end of this turn.

As for the Bakemonogatari card, it’s named “Lovers Koyomi Araragi and Senjougahara Hitagi’. 1/0, 4.5k power, 1 soul, no soul trigger, Strange and Blood traits. Has an experience effect; if the cards in your level area are 2 or more, this card gains +500 power (bumping it to 5k power) and hand encore. It’s second ability is a climax combo (it’s corresponding climax is a +2 soul buff) – when this card attacks while the climax “Watashi no subete” (My Everything), you may pay 1 stock. If you do, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, choose 1 Strange trait character from them, show it to your opponent and add it to your hand. Discard the rest of the cards into your Waiting Room.

June 23rd, Card of the Day

Today’s card of the day is Black Hanekawa from the Tsubasa Cat/Tiger branch of the Bakemonogatari story. Yeah, I know, random stupid cat girl, but she has a solid climax synergy to say the least.

“Black Hanekawa”, 2/2, 7.5k power, 2 soul, soul trigger, Strange and Committee President traits. Her second ability is hand encore. Her first ability is a climax synergy; when this card attacks while “Tsubasa Cat” is played on your Climax Area, you may search your deck for a character whose name is identical to a character already on your Stage and add it to your hand, then shuffle your deck. This is a very powerful search ability with the smallest limtiation to date – no level limit, no trait restrictions, you just search for a copy of a character already on your Stage! This is the ability to use when you are missing a couple of key cards to form your combo, for instance; a missing backrow character. Of course, you may search for more copies of Hanekawa instead, why not? More Hanekawas, more search. This is especially powerful if comboed with cards that go back to your deck upon death.

June 21st, Card of the Day

Today’s card of the day is our cute little bouncy self-proclaimed tsundere from Bakemonogatari, Mayoi.

1/1, 5.5k power, 1 soul, soul trigger, Strange and Spirit traits. Has an experience effect; if the total level of the cards in your level area is 2 or more, this card gains +500 power and hand encore. A really good and sustainable beatstick to use for a level 1 game!

June 13th, Card of the Day

Senjougahara Hitagi is today’s card of the day, hailing from the Bakemonogatari series.

2/2, 6.5k power, 2 soul, soul trigger, Strange and Stationery traits. This card has an experience effect; it gains power equal to the level of the cards you place in your level area x 500.

6th June, Card of the Day

Oh gosh, here comes an awesome yellow card from the Bakemonogatari series. Today’s feature is Shinobu Oshino, a little girl who is really a 500 year old vampire.

2/2, 8k power, 2 soul, soul trigger, Strange and Blood traits. On your own turn, this card gains +1k power. When this card attacks, Backups (aka character counters) cannot be played against this card. It’s a really good beatstick that cannot be countered against! This way, unless your opponent is running counter events (you never know), this card is bound to reverse the chracter in front of it so long as her power is just a little above it. Normally, to avoid being countered, players would attempt to increase the power of a card beyond a counter’s range, but this allows you to attack with a lot more ease. The only way to counter this card is through counter events that add power.

June 3rd, Card of the Day

My internet was down for the past week, but I’ve since recovered internet access and now I’m bringing you the card of the day, hailing from Bakemonogatari, Nadeko Sengoku, the heroine of the Nadeko Snake story. She is pretty good for a double R rarity level 3.

Nadeko is 3/2, 10k power, 2 soul, has soul trigger, Strange trait. When this card is played from your hand or via a Change effect, you may place the top card of your Clock to your Waiting Room. When this card declares an Attack while her corresponding climax, Nadeko Snake (the other card of the day featured alongside this card), is played on your Climax Area, you may search your deck for up to two more copies of that level 3 Nadeko and add it to your hand, then Shuffle your Deck. The ability is free; all you need is the Nadeko Snake climax.

Nadeko Snake itself is a +1k, 1 soul to all characters climax with a Book trigger; if you trigger this climax during your trigger check, you may draw 1 card.

Nadeko is a really powerful card which can land some quick pain to your opponent’s characters. Note that it can be changed out according to the first ability, so given enough stock and a Nadeko in hand, you can change her out when you are level 2, heal one damage, proceed to beatdown with 11k power (not counting supports) supported by her climax, then search your deck for more Nadekos to prepare yourself for your level 3 game. Even if you don’t plan on using the Nadekos offensively (I don’t see why not), her combo gives you +2 hand absolutely free, assuming that your Nadekos aren’t stuck in your Stock, Waiting Room or Clock of course.

June 1st, Card of the Day

Hi everyone,

This is the card of the day for June 1st. It’s Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari!

It has weird and stationary traits. A 0/0 2.5k which gains another 1.5k power and hand encore if it’s played alone. Good beatstick at lvl 0 that’s for sure but keeping it on field prevents you from attacking more and gaining more stock. Let’s see the next CoTD coming soon!!!
